The BEST Diet!
The BEST diet!
I was talking to someone last week who was explaining about how they had so much success using the KETO diet a few years ago. She went on to explain that she lost 40 lbs while utilizing it and that if she could just get back to following it, she feels like she’d be successful in getting the weight off AGAIN.
Notice that ‘again’ word at the end of that paragraph? She gained all the weight back since ‘being successful’ with it a few years ago. What happened? I would argue that if you are following a diet that you can’t sustain for the long haul, it’s not the right one. If it’s not truly sustainable, you will eventually fall back into old habits and gain the weight back. Sound familiar?
For the people that I’ve seen truly be successful at achieving results over a period of YEARS, they’ve found a diet that they can stick to 90+ percent. Not 80/20. Not 70/30. C’s get degrees in school, but they won’t help you achieve your goal to transform your health!
Notice I didn’t say KETO was bad. If you can see sticking with it for life, then it may be the right option for you. I personally like pizza, fries, and carbs too much to be able to stick with it for any period of time. There are plenty of styles that work for all types of folks (Paleo, Vegan, Low-Carb, Atkins, Zone, etc). BUT, remember that this ‘getting healthy’ stuff is a life-long endeavor. It’s not a sprint. You don’t ever get ‘there’ – you have to fight every day for the rest of your life so it’s really important to find something that you can stick with for the long haul!
For me personally, I like simple – I shoot to hit my calorie and protein # every single day. That gives me flexibility, but also gives me some guard rails to keep me on track. Would love to talk with you more about this so I can point you in the right direction. These are the types of things that we discuss in Larger Than Life. Any questions? Let me know!
